RESULTS: Should Teachers Be Allowed to Carry Concealed Firearms?

HB 14-1157, a bill in Colorado State legislature, would have allowed teachers to carry concealed firearms in Colorado school, at the discretion of the local school district. The proposal was shot down (no pun intended) by the House Judiciary Committee, 7-4 on a party-line vote. 

According to 7News, Judiciary Committee Chairman Daniel Kagen said, "It's bad policy to allow guns in the classroom." However, a Quinnipiac University poll found that Coloradoan's support allowing teachers and school officials to carry guns at school.
