Fort Collins Council Votes in Favor of Outdoor Smoking Ban

Patrons of Fort Collins restaurants and bars will have to take their cigarettes farther outside.

The City Council on Tuesday gave initial approval to an ordinance that would ban smoking on outdoor patios and decks. In addition, smoking would be prohibited within 20 feet of public open-air dining and drinking areas. The measure passed unanimously.

Smoking also would be banned at outdoor Transfort facilities and within 20 feet of bus benches, shelters and stations.
